Senior Manager, Core Infrastructure Eng (Java)

Salary: $146,300 - 306,400 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a leader with strong technical depth in systems and firmware, paired with proven people management experience.
• We need someone comfortable making risk-based decisions in a hyperscale environment.
• We expect experience developing engineering talent and translating complex hardware and firmware issues into actionable operational plans.
• We require the ability to manage multiple medium- to large-scale programs while balancing technical risk, business priorities, customer impact, timelines, and resources.

• We will rely on you to lead and develop a high-performing firmware engineering and management organization supporting our global infrastructure fleet.
• You will define the firmware lifecycle strategy for server and hardware platforms, covering intake, qualification, release, deployment, maintenance, and end-of-life planning.
• You will establish scalable standards for firmware versioning, configuration management, validation, release readiness, and change control.
• You will drive cross-functional firmware qualification with hardware vendors, platform engineering, security, supply chain, and cloud operations teams.
• You will oversee validation for BIOS, BMC, storage, network, accelerator, and other platform firmware, with a focus on compatibility, performance, reliability, and security.
• You will ensure safe fleet deployment methods, including phased rollouts, health monitoring, automated remediation, rollback planning, and operational readiness.
• You will define measurable reliability, availability, security, and deployment KPIs and use telemetry and dashboards to identify risks and improve fleet health.
• You will lead the investigation and resolution of complex firmware incidents, defects, regressions, and interoperability issues.
• You will partner with security teams to support firmware integrity, secure boot, vulnerability remediation, access control, and compliance needs.
• You will drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices that reduce manual work and improve repeatability of firmware updates.
• You will manage multiple programs while balancing technical risk, business priorities, customer impact, timelines, and available resources.
• You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external hardware and firmware vendors, helping influence roadmaps and escalation paths.
• You will coach managers and engineers, set goals, provide performance feedback, build succession plans, and grow our firmware talent pipeline.
• You will foster a culture of operational ownership, continuous learning, inclusion, and ongoing improvement.
