Key Responsibilities :

The Medical Assistant role is a vital position encompassing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced specialty practice:

• Patient Intake: Efficiently room patients, measure and record vital signs, and accurately obtain visit information, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Clinical Support: Assist clinicians and physicians with exams, procedures, and patient education relevant to nephrology care.
• Medication Management: Handle medication refill requests and manage complex pre-authorizations for specialized medications and procedures.
• Administrative Duties: Perform various front office tasks, including scheduling, answering patient calls, and ensuring smooth office flow.
• Documentation: Maintain precise and timely patient records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Communication: Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, clinicians, co-workers, and external healthcare providers.
• Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA and patient safety guidelines.

 

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on experience working as a Medical Assistant is required.
• Certification: Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, specifically EPIC.
• Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and possess strong critical thinking skills.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
