We are looking for a Tool and Die Maker to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. Then keep reading! The Norridge location of NSI is a progressive manufacturer of die castings that has been in business for 60+ years, and we look forward to having you join our team! Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday).

General Summary
Accountable for the construction and repair of molds per customer and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Examine tool/piece part drawing and determine sequence of operations necessary for construction of mold
• Construct mold to customer specifications
• Notify Tool Room Manager when mold needs to be sent out for heat treating, wire burning, jig-grinding, polishing, Blanchard grinding or engraving
• Accountable for inspection of completed mold and completion of steel checklist
• Notify Tool Room Manager when job has been completed and complete New Die Checklist
• Operate CNC, mill, grinder, lathe, saw and EDM machine
• Request necessary supplies such as carbon, cutters, components, etc.
• Complete time tickets for operations performed and enter into the computer at the end of shift, daily
• Notify Tool Room Manager of any quality concerns
• Stop a job when a nonconformance has been detected and notify Tool Room Manager
• Accountable for assigned repair work and completion of associated repair tags

Required Qualifications

• Mold making
• Blueprint reading
• Use of measuring equipment
• Machine operation
• Computer knowledge

Salary Range: $37.00 - $40.00/hr.
