Project Engineer | Commercial General Contractor

Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM

Compensation: $105, 000- $115,000 plus auto allowance

Savage Search Associates is partnering with a well-established Commercial General Contractor in Irvine seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.

This company specializes in tenant improvements, ground-up construction, and retrofits to existing buildings, with project experience across healthcare, education, life science, corporate office, creative office, entertainment, industrial, retail, and hospitality.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the work, supporting Project Managers and Superintendents, staying organized, and helping keep projects moving on time and on track.

What You Will Do

• Assist the Project Manager and project team with documentation, coordination, scheduling, job cost support, and project controls
• Support on-site management to help ensure successful project execution
• Track and manage RFIs, submittals, material procurement, and project documentation
• Maintain and review daily Superintendent reports
• Assist with project bidding, subcontractor coordination, and change order processing
• Help identify and address potential project risks before they impact schedule or budget
• Set up and support weekly OAC meetings
• Monitor project progress to help ensure deadlines are met
• Support process improvements and contribute to a team-focused construction environment
• Lead by example and help train or mentor other team members when needed

What We Are Looking For

• 2-3 years of Project Engineer experience on commercial construction projects
• Commercial tenant improvement experience required
• OSHPD and/or medical office building experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred
• Ability to read drawings and understand project constructability
• Strong knowledge of construction document control, RFIs, submittals, and change order processes
• Ability to multitask and support multiple projects or priorities at once
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Procore is a plus
• Familiarity with California labor laws and OSHA regulations
