Property Controller

Family Office Commercial real estate firm located near Westchester, NY is looking to hire a CONTROLLER with 5 - 7 years of real estate and corporate accounting experience. Our ideal candidate is someone who can work well in a small team environment, is an effective communicator with ability to interact directly with ownership and external parties, is an independent thinker and problem solver, proactive, has strong analytical skills, and superior organizational skills. We’re looking for someone highly proficient in Excel and a quicky study on other software/programs. Key Responsibilities Primary manager of the general ledger for properties and corporate books Prepare special ad-hoc analysis/projects as required Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, work papers, lender and partner compliance reporting – including monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and variance reports Daily treasury functions, including monitoring of daily cash activities, posting cash receipts, and cutting checks for properties and corporate office Analyze cash positions and prepare projections and distribution schedules as needed Assist in the preparation and maintenance of development project budgets Work with 3rd parties (management companies, investors, insurance consultant, lenders, vendors, brokers. etc.) to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues. Address the needs of the Family Office (distributions, communications with family members, etc.) Assist with preparation of year-end audit/tax packages and collaborating with the external accountants Key Role Characteristics Enjoys working in small team environment Strong communication and organization skills Process-oriented with sound judgment Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see tasks through to completion Ability to prioritize and organize time to manage deadlines Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of real estate and corporate accounting experience Public accounting audit and/or tax experience a plus Strong Excel skills (data manipulation, ad hoc analysis, layout/presentation of findings and thought process) Knowledge of Skyline is strongly desired #J-18808-Ljbffr Search Masters, Inc.
