Senior Project Manager - Salesforce Application Rationalization

job summary:
Randstad is seeking a battle-tested Senior Project Manager - Salesforce Application Rationalization to join the Digital Technology (DT) Safety & Security (S&S) team for our major transportation client. In this role, you will take ownership of a critical, multi-year initiative focused on rationalizing, consolidating, and migrating three core Salesforce applications to new target platforms.

Because these applications are mission-critical with zero tolerance for downtime, we are seeking a Sr. PM who possesses a high-level conceptual understanding of Salesforce architecture and data structures, paired with exceptional risk management and hardcore financial forecasting skills. You will operate autonomously across the full migration lifecycle-from requirements gathering and platform evaluation through data transfer and legacy sunsetting.

responsibilities:



Application Rationalization & Migration: Lead the full lifecycle rationalization and migration of 3 existing mission-critical Salesforce applications onto replacement platforms, ensuring zero downtime and mitigating high-stakes financial/operational risks.

Platform Evaluation & Technical Direction: Leverage a solid backend understanding of Salesforce (data flows, architecture, capabilities) to guide platform selection, requirements gathering, and migration strategy. (Note: Hands-on development/coding is not required).

Strict Financial Management: Develop, maintain, and track detailed monthly project financial forecasts (Labor, Vendor Spend, Hardware/Software) while strictly adhering to a ±5% monthly variance target and documenting accruals.

Governance & PMO Compliance: Manage project scope, schedules, and cross-functional delivery teams in compliance with formal system delivery methodologies, Q-gates, and PMO standards.

Executive Communication & Reporting: Deliver consistent weekly/monthly dashboards and progress updates to DT S&S Leadership, Executive Leadership, ePMO, and Finance.

qualifications:
Experience & Certifications: 10+ years of dedicated IT Project Management experience. Active PMP Certification is required. Bachelor's Degree required.

Salesforce & Rationalization Expertise: Deep understanding of application rationalization methodologies (evaluating alternative platforms, requirements gathering, data transfer) combined with a strong conceptual knowledge of the Salesforce backend.

Financial Forecasting Rigor: Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar IT project budgets with strict variance requirements (±5%) and complex accrual tracking.

Location Constraint: Must reside along the Northeast Corridor (NEC) to enable periodic, seamless travel to Washington, DC for key on-site meetings.

Software Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Enterprise).

Communication & Domain Fit: Exceptional written, verbal, and executive dashboard communication skills. Experience in Safety, Security, or Risk Management IT environments is a strong plus.
