Custodian Part Time

Custodial Maintenance PositionThis part time position is responsible for the custodial maintenance of campus buildings and facilities. The schedule for this role is flexible and will be based on the employee’s availability, with options for day, evening, or weekend hours.Responsibilities include:Cleaning buildings, classrooms, restrooms, and drinking fountains.Dusting and cleaning boards, offices, and flat surfaces; washing windows, walls, glass doors, and classroom equipment; may work from a ladder; polishing brass.Collecting and emptying trash.Sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors; vacuuming and shampooing carpets.Reporting damaged structures and equipment; maintaining building entranceways.Moving office furniture and equipment; assisting in setting up facilities for special events.Performing related work as required.Required qualifications include:Ability to report to work on time and maintain dependable attendance.Current valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report review.Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug testing.Preferred qualifications include some custodial experience and experience with commercial floor care equipment.Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and tools used in custodial services.Knowledge of equipment such as rotary buffers and carpet extracting machines.Knowledge of safe work practices.Ability to exercise care regarding chemical, mechanical, or electrical hazards.Ability to follow routine oral and written instructions.Ability to work extended periods at manual tasks and to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, stoop, walk, bend, or crouch for long periods; lift light and occasionally heavy objects; and use tools or equipment requiring dexterity.Ability to work in a variety of college buildings and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.May be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious disease, or irritant chemicals; use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, and gloves may be required.Ability to operate a golf cart and/or company vehicle.For more information or questions about a job posting, please contact the Department of Human Resources at View phone number on click.appcast.io, or by email at View email address on click.appcast.io.
