Energy Analyst

Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid – 3 Days In Office after first 90 days)

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 + substantial Annual Bonus + Employee Stock Options

About the Opportunity

Our client is a successful, employee-owned energy consulting firm that has helped thousands of commercial clients reduce utility costs for nearly 30 years. They are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Energy Analyst to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is curious, enjoys working with data, solving problems, and helping businesses save money. No utility or energy industry experience is required —the company will provide comprehensive training.

What You Will Be Doing

• Analyze utility billing and energy usage data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate utility rate schedules and recommend more cost-effective options.
• Build and maintain Excel models to calculate savings and support recommendations.
• Research billing discrepancies, usage trends, and audit findings.
• Compare client data to identify unusual patterns and opportunities.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to internal teams and clients.
• Learn utility rates, tariffs, and industry regulations through company training.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Financial Analysis, Pricing Analysis, or a similar analytical role.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• SQL, Salesforce, Python, or Power BI experience is a plus.
