Aquatic Staff

Job Summary Provides lessons in line, both group and private, as well as serving as a lifeguard. Monitor recreational areas, such as pools to provide assistance and protection to participants. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Oversee the Aquatic area for 3 Aquatic pools and Hot Tub area. Inform the Aquatic Program Manager when supplies are needed or equipment needs repair or replacement. Assist Swim Instructors with equipment or issues on deck. Ensure participants meet course completion requirements. Organize the class environment to ensure individual success. Make sure all swim aids and accessories are put away at completion of your shift. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes. Licenses and Credentials: Certified Basic Swim Instructor – Data Conversion – Various Issuers required; HeartSaver CPR AED – American Heart Association (AHA) required; Lifeguarding – American Red Cross required. Experience: Previous Lifeguard or Swim Instructor experience of 1–2 years required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Talking to others to convey information effectively. Actively looking for ways to help people. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to function autonomously while keeping team members and leaders informed. Ability to rapidly make accurate decisions, analyze, and interpret information.
