Senior Accountant - General Ledger & Accounts Payable

A growing company in the energy systems sector is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida . This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong general ledger, reconciliation, and accounts payable experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant will support key day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to process improvements across the accounting function. Please note: This is a fully onsite position based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role. Key Responsibilities Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries and month-end close support Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts Process and manage accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing Assist with financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting process improvements Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date accounting records Support audits by preparing and providing requested documentation Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data Utilize accounting systems and tools to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy Support additional accounting and finance projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices Experience with account reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting tools Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system is a plus MBA, CPA, or CMA designation is a plus Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
