Client Success Manager - Direct Indexing

Alphathena is a Chicago-based startup building a B2B SaaS platform for Direct Indexing including tax loss harvesting, automated rebalancing, custom indexes, intelligent transitions, advanced optimization and workflows for mid-to-large RIAs. We're rolling out Alphathena 2.0, an industry-disrupting upgrade to our core platform built around agentic AI workflows.

We're hiring a Client Success Manager in Chicago. You'll be responsible for a group of RIA client relationships. That means understanding how each firm runs its investment process, deciding how Alphathena fits into it, and making sure the client gets value from the platform over time.

What you'll do

• Serve as the main relationship contact for a group of RIA clients, including investment teams and operations leaders.
• Plan and lead onboarding: learn the firm's investment process, decide how their portfolios, households and transitions will be set up, and agree on the plan with the client.
• Advise clients on how to use Alphathena in their workflow, including portfolio construction, tax loss harvesting, rebalancing, transitions, and householding.
• Hold regular check-ins with clients to review how things are going and where the platform could do more for them.
• Handle escalated issues and work with product and engineering to resolve them.
• Help clients bring more of their accounts and AUM onto the platform.
• Direct and support the Client Success Analysts working on your accounts.
• Bring client feedback to the product team and help set priorities based on what clients need.

Who you are

• 2-10 years in client service, investment operations, or portfolio management at an RIA, TAMP, custodian, asset manager, or wealthtech firm.
• A practical understanding of how RIAs work, including portfolio construction, tax loss harvesting, rebalancing, and householding.
• Experience managing client relationships with advisors, PMs, or operations teams.
• Clear communicator who can explain how the platform fits into a firm's process.
• Comfortable managing several client relationships at once.
• Bonus: experience with direct indexing or SMA platforms.
• Bonus: CFP, CFA, or equivalent.
