High School Social Studies Teacher
A vacancy exists for the 2026-2027 School Year for a High School Social Studies Teacher, within the Norristown Area School District at the Norristown Area High School.
* Sign On Bonus - one time (In addition to Salary): $3,000
Qualifications:
- PA Certification(s): 7-12 Social Studies
- Bachelor's Degree
- FBI, Criminal Background, and Child Abuse clearances
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide an appropriate program of education and training for the students.
- Utilize the abilities, skills and talents of all members of the team to the fullest in educating the students.
- Prepare lesson plans in accord with the students' IEPs.
- Administer individual diagnostic tests to assess the students' educational achievement.
- Provide classroom management based on principles of child development and behavior modification techniques.
- Submit quarterly student progress reports to parent and district of residence administrators.
- Work effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop professional relationships and a supportive climate which facilitates mainstreaming the special education student.
- Keep up to date attendance records and child tracking data on each enrolled student.
- Assume additional duties as assigned by the program supervisor.

Monday- Friday
7.5 hrs/day
2026-2027 Salary Schedule:
Experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10
Bachelor's - $62,663-$78,539 (step 10)
Bachelor's + 24 - $67,760-$87,165 (step 10)
Master's - $72,133-$95,070 (step 10)
Master's + 15 - $75,276-$99,400 (step 10)
Master's + 30 - $78,419-$103,698 (step 10)
Master's + 45 - $78,944-$104,289 (step 10)
Doctorate/Master's + 60 - $79,469-$104,848 (step 10)
