Step into a dynamic role supporting high school students aged 16-21 as a Special Education Teacher specializing in educational support. Based on a 10-month school calendar, this is a full-time, contract position conveniently located near Lansdale, PA, and Philadelphia, PA 19133. You’ll work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, helping them achieve academic success and preparing them for life beyond graduation.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or Education (required)
• Valid state certification for Special Education Teaching
• Previous experience working with high school students or older adolescents, especially in a classroom or resource room setting
• Strong skills in developing and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with a range of learning or behavioral disabilities
• Create and implement effective IEPs, regularly tracking student progress and adapting plans as needed
• Work proactively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Establish a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and self-advocacy
• Maintain clear, timely communication with families about student goals and progress
• Encourage and support student participation in transition planning and vocational or life skills programs
