Lake Geneva Country Club is entering one of the most exciting chapters in its history, and we are looking for the right person to help us shape what comes next. Located on the south shore of Geneva Lake in southeastern Wisconsin, LGCC recently selected Andrew Green as its golf course architect and is beginning comprehensive long-range planning for a property-wide renovation targeted for 2028. Over the coming years, our Grounds Department will be directly involved in golf course restoration, major infrastructure improvements, agronomic enhancements, and projects that will influence the property for decades. We aren't simply looking to fill an Assistant Superintendent position. We want to add someone who is ready for meaningful responsibility and wants to contribute to the continued elevation of not only the Grounds Department, but Lake Geneva Country Club as a whole. ABOUT LAKE GENEVA COUNTRY CLUB

Founded in 1895, Lake Geneva Country Club is a historic private club located along the south shore of Geneva Lake in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The club combines more than 130 years of history with a commitment to continually improving the golf course, facilities, and member experience. The Grounds Department is entering a period of significant investment and long-range improvement. With Andrew Green retained as golf course architect and comprehensive planning underway, the coming years will provide our team with the opportunity to contribute to decisions and projects that will shape LGCC for the next generation. Our goal is to build a Grounds Department known not only for the quality of the golf course, but also for developing people. WHAT YOU'LL OWN - This position will be given meaningful responsibility from the beginning, with additional ownership earned as familiarity with the property and operation grows.

1. Help plan, coordinate, and lead daily golf course maintenance operations ? Lead and develop full-time staff, AITs, interns, and seasonal team members.
2. Serve as an on-site leader and help manage the golf course in the Director of Grounds' absence.
3. Monitor turf health, playing conditions, and course presentation and communicate observations and recommendations.
4. Participate in the planning and execution of fertilizer, plant protectant, growth regulator, and other agronomic programs.
5. Take an active role in irrigation operation, moisture management, troubleshooting, and future irrigation improvements.
6. Plan and execute cultural practices including aerification, topdressing, grooming, and other programs.
7. Help coordinate and execute drainage, construction, and other golf course improvement projects.
8. Participate in planning and preparation for the club's long-range golf course renovation.
9. Train staff in equipment operation, safety, course standards, and proper care of club assets.
10. Work closely with the Equipment Technician to maintain a high standard of equipment care and performance.
11. Help maintain department records, labor information, application records, and other operational documentation.
12. Participate in staff hiring, onboarding, coaching, and professional development.
13. Communicate professionally with club leadership, members, contractors, consultants, and industry partners when appropriate.
14. Help maintain a Grounds Department culture built around accountability, professionalism, pride, teamwork, and continuous improvement

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN - Our goal is not simply to develop a successful Assistant Superintendent. We want to help prepare the right individual to eventually lead a golf course operation of their own. Professional development will be intentional and tailored, where possible, to the individual's experience, interests, and long-term career goals. Opportunities will include exposure to:

• Golf course agronomy and development of annual agronomic programs.
• Staff leadership, scheduling, training, and personnel management.
• Department budgeting, purchasing, labor management, and capital planning.
• Plant protectant, fertility, and growth regulator program development.
• Irrigation management and planning for major infrastructure improvements.
• Golf course architecture, long-range planning, and project development.
• Contractor coordination and golf course construction.
• Working in stride with the golf course improvement committee and other industry consultants.
• Committee meetings, member communication, and club governance.
• Equipment planning, purchasing, and fleet management.
• Tournament and event preparation.
• Professional networking, association involvement, continuing education, and industry events As the club moves toward its planned 2028 renovation, this position will provide firsthand exposure to the process of taking a major golf course project from early planning and evaluation through preparation and eventual execution.

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of progressive golf course maintenance experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience.
• Experience with fertilizer and plant protectant applications.
• Working knowledge of irrigation and water management.
• Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet the physical demands of golf course maintenance.
• Availability for weekends, holidays, and extended hours when course conditions or events require them

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: [$65,000-$85,000], dependent upon experience
