Quality Assurance Technician

The Quality Assurance Technician's role primarily focuses on operational, hands-on tasks within the production environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Production Oversight: Inspecting, recording, and reporting on information at various production phases and auditing for SOP/GMP conformance.
• Sampling: Collecting raw materials, finished products, components, and labels for quality testing.
• Label Management: Maintaining the label cage, issuing labels to production, and reconciling labels after batch runs.
• Documentation: Performing batch record sign-offs (from weighing to packaging) and entering data into the computer. Programs: Maintaining allergen and environmental swabbing programs, as well as performing monthly glass and hard plastic audits.

This role focuses on clerical support, documentation review, and compliance within the Quality department. Key responsibilities include:

• Document Management: Developing Document Change Requests (DCRs) for formulations and BOMs, routing and tracking changes, and maintaining controlled document binders.
• Release Processes: Reviewing final process orders, batch records for all manufacturing phases, and facilitating the quality release of finished products for distribution.
• Clerical Functions: Filing records (including process orders, DCRs, and raw material paperwork), copying/distributing controlled quality documents, and maintaining the batch record database.
• Label Support: Creating paperwork for received labels and tracking/finalizing Quality Assurance Dispositions (QADs).

• Scope: The Quality Technician is a "boots-on-the-ground" role involving physical inspection and sampling. The Quality Document Control role is an office-based position centered on review, issuance, and clerical support.
• Key Deliverables: Quality Technicians ensure the physical product meets standards, whereas Quality Document Control ensures the documentation trail for those products is complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
