Summary This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), U.S. Capitol Visitor Center (CVC), Exhibits and Education Division. The selectee serves as an Educational Program Manager responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs and resources for educators, students and general public audiences. It is available for your review on the OPM web site at Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Developing and implementing K-12 educational programs, curriculum, or resources related to history, civics, and/or government in a museum, historic site, cultural institution, or similar learning environment; Leading staff, educators, volunteers, or project teams in a museum or similar learning environment in the development educational programs; and Initiating and developing partnerships with educational institutions that support professional development programs. -OR- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. -OR- 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Candidates for the GS-12 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Independently planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating K-12 educational programs, curriculum, or resources related to history, civics, and/or government in a museum, historic site, cultural institution, or similar informal learning environment; Supervising a team in a museum or similar learning environment responsible for educational programming, including assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, providing guidance and resolving workplace or performance issues; and Initiating and developing partnerships with educational institutions that support professional development programs.
