Phlebotomist II Site Lead Bronx, NY – Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with rotational weekends. Pay Range $25.80 – $30.65 per hour. The site lead directs daily activity at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In‑Office Phlebotomy (IOP) and may oversee one or more Phlebotomy Staff Representatives (PSR) on site. The role requires a commitment to quality, patient safety, and Quest Diagnostics’ Leadership Behaviors. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams). Administer oral solutions as trained. Confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using laboratory technology systems. Enter and manage data accurately, including patient registration, test orders, and standing orders. Enter billing information and collect payments when required. Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as needed. Perform clerical duties such as inventory control, supply management, and answering phones when needed. Read and comply with departmental policies, manuals, and quality assurance procedures. Verify patient demographic information and signatures post‑venipuncture to ensure accurate labeling. Assist in compiling and submitting monthly statistics and data. Maintain phlebotomy logs, including temperature logs, in a timely manner. Keep current with phlebotomy training requirements. Travel to Territory Manager meetings or other off‑site requirements. Participate in special projects and teams. Distribute company communications to the work group. Perform point‑of‑care testing where required and complete competency evaluations. Serve as a mentor and resource for new employees. Assist with inventory counts and report shortages. Help prepare schedules for the assigned work group or PSCs. Communicate professionally with clients to resolve issues and document critical problems. Enforce safety precautions, including appropriate dress code and protective equipment. Assist supervisors in implementing standard operating procedures for phlebotomy services. Ensure facilities remain neat, clean, and well‑maintained. Act as coach, instructor, and point of contact for staff on site, providing regular input to the group lead or supervisor. Qualifications Required Work Experience Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Keyboard and data entry skills. Availability for weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime, and rotational schedules. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable). Travel flexibility to cover multiple locations on short notice. Preferred Work Experience Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment. Customer service experience in a retail or service setting. Physical and Mental Requirements Lift and carry items ranging from light to moderate weight (1–26 lb) and rarely over 40 lb. Ability to sit or stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Extensive use of phone and PC. Fine dexterity, steadiness, and the ability to walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist. Licenses and Certifications Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states such as California, Nevada, Washington, and Louisiana; preferred otherwise).
