Diagnostic Radiology Technologist (Mammography)

The purpose of the position is to serve as a Mammography Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist. The work requires the incumbent to independently perform very difficult and highly specialized radiographic examinations of the breast (mammography) utilizing a variety of specialized procedures that require precise positioning and produces quality results. Hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Salary: Up to $121,017.

Responsibilities include independently performing a complex and diverse array of screening and diagnostic mammography examinations, management of patient schedules, assisting the Radiologist(s) and other Health Care Providers needle localizations, breast ultrasound studies and other related breast health examinations, providing expert advice in mammographic imaging to enhance patient evaluation and care, collecting, filing and maintaining documentation related to the performance of mammograms and resulting studies, and researching pertinent patient histories and acting as liaison with other healthcare facilities in order to collect information and records from prior examinations.

Qualifications include US citizenship, radiology certification, and one year of specialized experience which includes performing radiographic procedures such as setting up x-ray equipment, reviewing images for quality, or assisting with performing breast biopsies. Alternatively, one and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Diagnostic Radiology, Radiography, Radiologic Technology and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or a combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position.
