About the Role As a Department Manager, you will lead and support your full team, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. Your responsibilities include ensuring an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers and colleagues, reviewing your store’s strengths, opportunities and competitors, analyzing sales, and creating plans to optimize results and profits. A Day in the Life Customer Sales & Profit Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines. Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions. Be aware of and take responsibility for your department’s strengths, identify commercial opportunities and act on them. Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results. Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team can actively promote and sell products to customers. Follow up to ensure your team promotes the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in‑store sustainability initiatives. Manage your department cost‑efficiently. Maintain correct fitting‑room and checkout routines, including transactions, returns and exchanges. Handle all administrative routines for people and operations appropriately. Fashion & Trend Awareness Keep up to date with the fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors and relevant influencers. Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge and other relevant information during customer interactions. Team & Development Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, upskilling and developing your team in‑store. Complete performance evaluations and succession planning to support business and team needs. Retain and share your knowledge and skills with your team. Collaborate, plan and work with the in‑store Visual Merchandiser team. Give and receive feedback with colleagues to learn, develop and support each other. Responsible for team planning and scheduling. Communicate regularly with store colleagues to inform, motivate and inspire – daily, weekly meetings, etc. Ensure all procedures, routines and legal requirements in all areas of the store are followed. Participate in relevant onboarding and training processes. Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution Secure a clean and tidy sales floor and back‑of‑house, including stockroom areas. Ensure high‑fashion quality, visual and commercial product presentation, with good garment care. Maintain good stock levels and provide input on allocation to the Area team. Ensure the full garment cycle – from delivery to presentation – and fitting‑room routines meet internal standards and use all provided tools and technology. Follow best practice for any in‑store OMNI Services and technology tools (In‑store Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.). Maintain a strong price‑sign balance and ensure consistency of price perception throughout the store. Update and maintain BOH areas for all colleagues (key information, health & safety, tidiness, etc.). Be responsible for opening and closing the store daily. Achievement‑oriented, motivated by performance and competition, and truly customer‑centric. Compensation Expected base salary range is $22–$26 hourly.
