CTE Instructor: Multisector Vocational Training

Job Summary Building and Construction Trades: this sector encompasses four career pathways: Cabinetry, Millwork, and Woodworking; Engineering and Heavy Construction; Mechanical Systems Installation and Repair; and Residential and Commercial Construction. Standards included in the sector are designed to prepare students for technical training, postsecondary education, and entry to a career. Hours: Up to 20 hours a week @ Youth Transition Campus (YTC) Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation (Culinary Arts Barista Training): this program prepares students for careers in the dynamic food and beverage industry, with a specific focus on barista skills and coffee service. *Hours/Location: Up to 15 hours a week @ Innovations (Vista, CA) (Food Service and Hospitality) this program prepares students to understand the scientific principles of nutrition, the relationship of nutrition to health and well-being, and develop skills in food production, preparation, and service. Students gain experience in the use and care of commercial equipment, management of food establishments, cost and profitability analysis, and handling cash and credit transactions. *Hours/Location: Up to 20 hours a week @ 37ECB; Up to 15 hours a week @ San Pascual Academy Agriculture and Natural Resources: this sector is designed to provide a foundation in agriculture for all agriculture students in California. Students engage in an instructional program that integrates academic and technical preparation and focuses on career awareness, career exploration, and skill preparation in seven pathways in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Mechanics, Agriscience, Animal Science, Forestry and Natural Resources, Ornamental Horticulture, and Plant and Soil Science. Hours/Location: Up to 15 hours a week @ Innovations (Vista, CA) Requirements / Qualifications The Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) provides a fully accredited educational program for school-age youth who are either wards of the court or have been referred by social services, probation, or one of the 42 school districts in San Diego County. Services are provided to incarcerated youth, pregnant minors, foster youth, expelled teens, and chronically truant youth, students in drug treatment centers and group homes for neglected or abused children, and homeless youth.

EXPERIENCE:

Candidates must be able to verify three years (3,000 hours) of professional work experience in appropriate field, with at least one year of hands-on experience and recency of one year in the last five years, or two years within the last 10 years.
