The Staffing Branch Manager leads the recruitment, training, and operational management of the branch to ensure a productive and compliant work environment. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Regional Director, this role requires daily on-site presence and a proactive approach to managing client relationships, staff performance, and regulatory compliance. The manager fosters a drama-free, professional atmosphere while handling branch metrics, payroll accuracy, and attendance management.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and mentor staff to maintain high morale and professionalism
- Manage the recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to retention
- Monitor branch performance metrics and implement improvements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including meal/rest breaks, harassment training, and I-9 processing
- Track hours and attendance, addressing absenteeism and respecting protected leaves
- Serve as primary escalation point for client concerns and partner with Sales for new business opportunities
- Conduct investigations into complaints and mediate conflicts to protect reputation and legal defensibility
- Prepare accurate operational reports for HR, Operations Management, and Executive Leadership
- Provide leadership training and career development for team members
- Lead branch meetings to align goals, update policies, and reinforce safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Deep understanding of wage and hour laws, including overtime and PAGA
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong grammar
- Excellent time-management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to perform evolving duties as assigned
- Drama-free leadership style, remaining calm and professional in conflicts
- Strong ownership mindset, viewing mistakes as opportunities to improve
- Familiarity with state-specific labor standards and safety regulations
- Fully bilingual and biliterate, able to translate complex labor laws and policies for a Spanish-speaking workforce
- 5 to 8 years progressive staffing experience with full-desk knowledge
- 3 to 5+ years in staffing supervisory roles
- Reliable transportation for consistent attendance and to fulfill job duties
- Authorized to work in the U.S. with required I-9 documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in staffing management
