Job Description The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek‑12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to work at Franklin High School. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist with administering first aid to children Administer medication in accordance with school policy Perform specific medical procedures as prescribed and outlined in the student’s health care plan Conduct growth and development screenings as mandated by 105 CMR 200.000 Confer with supervisor, site administrator, and the school nurse regarding student needs, policies, and procedures Substitute for the Van LPN, ride van to and from school to provide medical monitoring of students as needed Maintain records Participate in educational programs designed to increase knowledge and enhance the quality of practical nursing care in the school setting Uphold professional standards, the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act and other state and local statutes and regulations applicable to school nursing practice; and adhere to district policies Keep current with any changes to applicable nursing practices and standards Perform other related duties as assigned by the School Principal or School Nurse Qualifications Hold a valid LPN License in the State of Massachusetts Experience working with children and youth is preferred Able to take initiative and work independently Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI) Job Requirements Citizenship, residency or work visa required We understand that our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideas—an exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.
