POTENTIAL INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR INSTRUCTIONAL ASSIGNMENTSProgram: Anime Club Instructor OpportunitiesLocation: On-site at partner schools; varies by assignmentTeaching Mode: In PersonGrade Levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School; varies by assignmentSchedule: Typically 1-4 instructional service hours per week after schoolProgram Length: Commonly approximately 10 weeks per assignmentStart Dates: Opportunities become available throughout the school yearCompensation: Typical compensation of $50+ per completed instructional service hour, depending on assignment scope, experience, location, schedule, and agreed compensationABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYConcorde Education is seeking independent instructional contractors to provide Anime Club enrichment services for K-12 students.This is a potential independent contractor assignment, not an employee position. Contractors may choose whether to apply for, accept, decline, or ignore available opportunities.Assignments vary by school, grade level, schedule, curriculum, available technology, and program objectives.Concorde may provide curriculum guidance, lesson-plan suggestions, project ideas, instructional resources, or program objectives. Contractors may use their professional judgment to adapt instruction within the assignment scope and applicable site requirements.ASSIGNMENT SCOPEDepending on the accepted assignment, contractors may:• Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate Anime Club sessions;• Introduce students to storytelling, visual media analysis, animation, character development, and creative expression through discussion-based and project-based activities;• Adapt activities based on student interests, experience levels, site requirements, and program objectives;• Facilitate respectful discussions about themes, characters, artistic techniques, genres, and cultural influences represented in age-appropriate media;• Support students in creating fan art, character designs, creative writing projects, presentations, club activities, or other final projects, where applicable;• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and age-appropriate learning environment;• Communicate assignment-related needs or significant concerns with Concorde and school staff, as appropriate;• Complete a brief session completion form after each scheduled session; and• Follow applicable site safety, visitor, technology, emergency, and student-protection procedures.EXAMPLE PROGRAM TOPICSAssignments may include topics such as:• Storytelling, character development, and narrative themes;• Visual style, animation techniques, and artistic design;• Genre conventions and world-building;• Introductory anime history and global influence;• Age-appropriate connections to Japanese culture and media;• Media literacy and critical discussion skills;• Fan art, creative writing, character creation, and design projects; and• Collaboration, communication, creativity, and constructive feedback.Specific content, media selections, software platforms, and curriculum requirements vary by assignment.All content utilized must be age-appropriate, school-appropriate, and consistent with site requirements and policies.QUALIFICATIONSPreferred qualifications include:• At least 60 college credits, where required by the applicable assignment or site;• Familiarity with anime, animation, visual storytelling, media studies, pop culture, creative writing, art, or related subject areas;• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or leading activities with school-age students;• Strong communication, organization, discussion facilitation, and classroom management skills;• Availability to provide services for the accepted assignment schedule and communicate schedule issues as soon as reasonably practicable; and• Ability to facilitate age-appropriate discussions and activities in a school setting.Preferred backgrounds may include educators, tutors, media studies students, art students, writers, librarians, club advisors, anime enthusiasts with instructional experience, creative professionals, and others with relevant instructional or subject-matter expertise.MATERIALS AND RESOURCESAssignments may utilize school-approved media clips, discussion guides, curriculum resources, lesson plans, project materials, presentation tools, Chromebooks, and other school-provided technology.Contractors may use their own instructional methods and materials when appropriate, safe, age-appropriate, lawful, and consistent with the assignment scope and site requirements.Purchases requiring reimbursement must be approved in writing by Concorde before they are incurred.COMPENSATIONCompensation varies by assignment and agreed contractor terms. Many opportunities pay $50+ per completed instructional service hour with students.Contractors may propose their desired compensation rate when applying.
