This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients within a rural hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be a team player, focused on contributing to the health of the community. Key Responsibilities Monitor patients on telemetry for various conditions such as CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. Administer medications and titrate drips as necessary, primarily managing Heparin. Utilize effective communication and time management skills to ensure patient safety and care quality. Read telemetry strips and collaborate with telemetry monitor techs for patient monitoring. Participate in nursing activities across the unit, including floating to other med/surg units as needed. Comply with weekend and holiday shift requirements as part of the scheduling process. Unit Information Type: Med/Tele - K3 Total Beds: 25 Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse PCTs present with a ratio of 12:1 Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Tele nursing experience is required. BLS (AHA) certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred. Strong communication and time management skills are essential. Rural hospital experience is preferred. Shift and Scheduling This position follows a 12-hour night shift schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a requirement of every other weekend and holiday coverage. Scheduling is managed by unit leadership to meet the needs of the facility. Orientation and Training Orientation will include 2 shadow shifts to facilitate familiarity with unit protocols and workflows using the Paragon Charting System; the unit is transitioning to EPIC in the future.
