Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-acuity surgical step-down Progressive Care Unit role requiring a MI RN license and night shift availability.

Details

• Work on 2 East, a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical step-down unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1, sometimes 3:1
• Patients may require chest tubes, arterial lines, PICC lines and other central lines, ostomies, trachs, NG tubes, wound vacs, and various drains
• Manage drips and IV infusions including heparin, insulin, nitro, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on an every-other-weekend rotation
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• ICU background preferred due to high acuity patient population
• Comfortable managing invasive devices and complex IV drip therapies

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a surgical step-down setting managing high-acuity cases
• Holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving and one additional winter holiday
• Local candidates accepted
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies for travel pay rate eligibility
