Registered Nurse in Progressive Care UnitAs a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients who require intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. This position offers an opportunity to advance your nursing career while making a meaningful impact on patient lives.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and implementing prescribed treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and continuously monitor their progress, promptly identifying any changes or deterioration.Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and hospital regulations.Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans, making evidence-based decisions to optimize patient outcomes.Educate patients and their families on the plan of care, medications, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Offer emotional support and answer questions to alleviate concerns.Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in the PCU, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps, ensuring patient safety and accuracy.Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiate emergency protocols when necessary, and provide life-saving interventions as required.Adhere to hospital policies, quality standards, and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and the highest level of care.Stay current with the latest advancements in nursing practice, attending continuing education programs and training sessions as required.Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, patients, and their families, ensuring a collaborative and compassionate care environment.QualificationsValid RN license in state of practice and current BLS certification.Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a progressive care unit or a related critical care setting.ACLS certification is highly desirable.Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.Access to ongoing training and development programs.Supportive and collaborative work environment.Meaningful work that makes a difference in patients' lives.PCU RN 24 bed unit 13 week assignment 36 hrs 12 hr nights, 7p-7:30a AHA BLS & AHA ACLS required Active NY license 2 yrs of RN experience required along with 2 yrs of PCU/SCU experience Travel experience required Must be proficient with Tele, Drips, A lines, Vents, Post Cardiac Interventions, and High Acuity Surgical Posts EMR: EPIC 04/23 start
