The Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in hospital settings by supporting physicians with various clinical and administrative tasks. Working under physician supervision, this role ensures efficient patient care through vital signs monitoring, medical record management, patient education, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The Medical Assistant also manages appointment scheduling and insurance verification while utilizing specific Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to support seamless healthcare delivery. This position requires on-site presence to provide direct patient and clinical support effectively.

 

13 Week Contract with the option to extend or go perm

M-F 0800-1700 w/ one 1/2-day per week = 36 hours/week

Epic Charting -

 

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Manage medical records and maintain patient confidentiality
• Schedule patient appointments efficiently
• Provide clinical support under physician supervision
• Educate patients on healthcare procedures and protocols
• Verify insurance information before patient visits
• Sterilize medical equipment to ensure safety
• Perform various administrative duties to support office operations

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in medical assisting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• • Must hold either a CMA, CCMA, or RMA from ONE of the following:
  • NCCT
  • AMT
  • AAMA
  • NHA
  • NHCWA
  • ARMA
  • NRCMA
• Knowledge of patient care and medical terminology
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Strong scheduling and communication skills
• Proficiency in vital signs measurement and clinical procedures
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and healthcare privacy regulations
