Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN provides specialized perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role requires proficient circulating and scrub skills across a variety of surgical specialties, including vascular, orthopedics, general, ENT, urology, robotics, and gynecology.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist with surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile techniques.
• Perform circulating and scrub duties, including vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting, with proficiency in vascular and other specialized surgeries.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care, monitoring vital signs and responding to intraoperative needs.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and team members to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
• Exhibit flexibility by covering scheduled call shifts, including weekends and holidays, with prompt response times.
• Maintain compliance with all certifications, licenses, and facility policies throughout employment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid WV or Compact RN license (pending acceptable).
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in a surgical specialty.
• Demonstrate proven proficiency in vascular, orthopedics, general, ENT, urology, robotics, and gynecological surgeries.
• Be certified in BLS, with ACLS and PALS if required by specific units.
• Exhibit strong clinical skills in circulating and scrub roles within the operating room.
• Able to provide professional references from recent management or charge nurses.
