Registered Nurse RN - CVICU - Full-time, Nights Location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Work hours: Full‑time, 36 hours weekly, 3‑12 hour shifts, Night shift. Department Highlights 25‑bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Nurse: Patient ratio 1:2 833‑bed Level I Trauma Center MAGNET facility Comprehensive Cardiac Center Our primary focus is on the care of the cardiovascular surgical patient covering a vast variety of procedures, from peripheral vascular surgeries to complex open heart surgeries. The department prides itself in high‑performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills. Self‑scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. High acuity, high volume department. Here’s What You Need Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred. CLIAFE – must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required. Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire. BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly. ACLS – within 90 days of hire required. CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire. 1‑year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required. Current ICU experience preferred; PCU and Tele experience may be considered. In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will: Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment. Maintain a positive, customer‑focused attitude toward patients. Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism. Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems. What You Will Do Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. Assess the patient. Plan the care of the patient. Intervene as appropriate. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Incorporate age‑specific safety and infection control measures into patient care. Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information. Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers.
