Reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for preparing and completing the month end financial close process including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate supplemental reporting templates and compliance reporting in accordance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience.What You'll DoPrepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close deliverablesAssist in preparation of the monthly flux analysis for management reviewPrepare audit support for external and internal auditsAssist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures & performing internal control procedures (SOX) in areas of responsibilityEstablish effective relationships and work cross-functionally across the organizationDrive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibilityParticipate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by managementDevelop & implement processes into Shared Services for selected areasWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in Accounting required5+ years of accounting experienceExcellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and data query toolsExperience with JD Edwards, SAGE, AS400 and Hyperion preferredAbility to communicate, both orally and in writing, complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner, to individuals with little or no technical backgroundAbility to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing changeAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment with minimum supervision; Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumesWithin 3 Months You'llComplete your Atkore immersion planDevelop relationships within the Finance team other key personnelUnderstand Atkore policies for accounting and internal controlsLearned fundamentals of JDE and other software related to roleWithin 6 Months You'llAssume full responsibility for all journal entries related to positionAssume full responsibility for all reconciliations related to positionWithin 12 Months You'llBe subject matter expert in your processes and proceduresBe able to provide suggestions for process improvementsBe able to take on more responsibilities as neededAtkore is a six-time Great Place to Work© certified company and a four-time Top Workplaces USA award winner! Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time.
