Location: Elyria, OH

Pay Rate: $24.70 - $32.10 per hour

Second Shift: 2:30 PM-11 PM. Training required on 1st shift 6:30 AM-3 PM before moving to 2nd shift (possibly 3+ months)

Now hiring Machinist talent in Elyria for hands‑on, high‑skill work. You'll read blueprints, run your setup, and deliver consistent accuracy that keeps production running smoothly.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Hands‑on experience with conventional machining and lathe operations
• Basic knowledge of surface grinding equipment
• Ability to read measurements and perform math conversions (fractions/decimals)
• Strong attendance, reliability, and teamwork skills
• Experience reading production/shop orders
• Proficiency with precision measurement instruments
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing / 5S environments
• Demonstrated focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and communication

Job Duties

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and job orders (dimensions, tolerances, tooling specs)
• Performing machine setup adjustments, tool positioning, and cycle control
• Loading bar stock, securing collets/bushings, and managing feed mechanisms
• Conducting in-process inspections using gauges, precision tools, and CMM equipment
• Reviewing CMM reports and making CNC offsets or basic program adjustments for tool wear and drift
• Performing tool maintenance, including sharpening/grinding form and shave tools
• Executing preventive maintenance tasks (lubrication, greasing, minor repairs)
• Tracking production activity, completions, and scrap in the system
• Supporting 6S / lean manufacturing practices and maintaining a clean, safe work environment
