Role Description The Human Resources Generalist is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Sacramento, CA, responsible for supporting day‑to‑day HR operations across the organization. This position assists with talent acquisition activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding for field and office roles. The HR Generalist administers employee records, benefits enrollment, and leave management, while helping ensure compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws. Daily responsibilities include responding to employee inquiries, supporting performance review processes, coordinating training and safety‑related documentation, and assisting with HR reporting and data entry in HR systems. The role also contributes to employee engagement initiatives, policy communication, and continuous improvement of HR processes to support a positive, safety‑focused workplace. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. Knowledge of HR compliance, including federal and California employment laws, recordkeeping requirements, and safety‑focused workforce practices. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills to manage competing priorities in a high‑activity environment. Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels and preparing HR documentation. Proficiency with HRIS or HR‑related systems, plus general computer skills in tools such as Microsoft Office or similar software. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, sound judgment, and a high level of integrity. Experience supporting field‑based or industrial workforce environments (forestry, utilities, construction, or similar) is beneficial.
