The Auto Body Estimator plays a crucial role in assessing vehicle damage and preparing accurate repair estimates for both standard and specialty vehicles. Working as part of a team and reporting to the shop or general manager, this role requires strong technical knowledge and excellent communication to liaise with customers and insurance companies. The estimator ensures repair plans meet compliance standards while managing costs and maintaining detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine repair needs
• Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates
• Consult with customers to explain damage and repair options
• Coordinate with insurance companies for claim approvals
• Plan repair work and schedule accordingly
• Analyze repair costs and parts requirements
• Order necessary parts and materials
• Maintain thorough documentation for each estimate
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of auto body damage assessment and collision repair
• Experience with estimating software such as CCC One
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective time management abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
