Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Able to meet physical demands of the role including: Can lift 50 pounds Able to work on one's feet for 4 hours Can climb and work on a ladder /scaffold up to 20 feet high Can work on hands and knees for 15 minutes at a time Can move, with assistance, all standard school furniture Ability to supervise custodian staff and supervise contractors Knowledge of basic methods, supplies, and tools used in custodial work Ability to read operating instructions and write reports Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures Knowledge and experience with Google Suite Ability to work with supervisors, fellow custodians, students, staff, parents, and other community members Bilingual preferred but not required Responsibilities: Operate and maintain the heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and fire safety system. Inspect the building each day of the week, including weekends. Be available as reasonably as possible for emergencies or system failures during non-school hours or upon request of the Principal or District Administrator. Train, supervise, and assist in evaluating custodians. Train custodians in emergency procedures such as blackouts, fire alarms, and police calls. Act as liaison to police and fire officials in case of a building crisis. Requisition all supplies, materials, and repairs. Maintain in good condition and arrange for service on all custodial equipment in the building. Maintain the outside appearance of the building, including sweeping, removal of debris, and removal of snow. Perform simple plumbing, electrical, screen, and shade repairs. Maintain building security; board up broken windows, secure damaged doors, and make other temporary repairs until permanent repairs can be made. Check daily to make sure that exit doors are functional. Other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator or Director of Buildings and Grounds. #J-18808-Ljbffr Dist102
