Staff Accountant

LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team in the Garland, TX area. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience across general ledger accounting, reconciliations, payroll support, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger records.
  
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  
• Support monthly and year-end close processes, including account analysis and reporting activities.
  
• Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and internal financial reports.
  
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts.
  
• Research and resolve reconciliation items to ensure accuracy and timely resolution.
  
• Support payroll accounting activities, including reconciliation of payroll reports and recording related expenses and liabilities.
  
• Partner with internal teams to process employee updates and payroll-related adjustments.
  
• Prepare sales and use tax filings while maintaining accurate tax schedules and documentation.
  
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting financial documentation as needed.
  
• Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice review, account analysis, and aging review.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  
• Perform additional accounting projects and duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant, Accountant, or similar role.
  
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  

Pay Details: $72,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
