Regional Director Of OperationsThis position is based in one of the markets in the Region: (State of MA- North Hampton, West Wareham, Gloucester), Newburgh, NY or Somersworth, NH. Salary Range: $112,000-$168,000 - Based on Experience.Position Summary:The Regional Director of Operations is a key member of the Company's leadership team responsible for leading a large segment of the company's Energy operations. This position manages General Managers and Delivery Center Managers who are directly responsible for ensuring an exceptional customer experience in specific geographic areas. The Regional Director of Operations also provides leadership in support of the Dead River Company Mission, Strategic Plan, and Customer Guarantees and Pledges. This is a key position responsible for achieving profitability targets. This position is also a member of the corporate Leadership Council that is directly involved with achieving the company's Strategic Plan.Responsibilities:Mentors and develops direct reports (General Managers and Delivery Center Managers) through coaching, providing performance feedback, and offering advice to foster professional growth and development.Works closely with direct reports to effectively execute the mission, fulfill strategic objectives, achieve performance targets, and meet profitability goals.Evaluates performance of direct reports through the Performance Scorecard. Key member of management team that evaluates/calibrates scorecards for all managers in the reporting structure. Reviews and approves annual merit wage increases.Actively involved in achieving the company's Strategic Plan as a member of the Leadership Council.In collaboration with the VP of Operations, reviews and sets retail pricing of energy products in order to maximize gross margin while remaining competitive within each market segment. Monitors and gathers competitive market data from General Managers and keeps the VP of Operations informed.Collaborates with the Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, and key Shared Services leaders to prepare for the launch of sales and marketing initiatives and enhance the overall customer experience.Reviews and approves annual operating budgets and capital budgets for Market locations. Reviews monthly financial statements with each General Manager. Works closely with General Managers to resolve significant budget variances.Attains a general understanding of the energy software management system along with other systems for accounting and financial control.Attains a thorough knowledge and understanding of all company policies, procedures, and programs. Gains an understanding of all federal and state laws pertaining to petroleum distribution and service.Instrumental in reviewing, updating, and formulating policies and procedures relating to customer experience.Promotes culture of safety and all corporate safety programs. Works with Director of Risk Management and Safety Manager to identify areas needing attention.Sets a high standard of corporate image and strives to uphold the integrity of company policies and procedures.Assumes leadership roles in trade associations and community non-profits as opportunities arise.Participates in special projects as needed.Education/Experience:A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience leading people. The Regional Director of Operations is a key decision-maker in both short and long-range planning, policy setting, and overall direction. This position is called upon to make or assist in important decisions relating to customer relationships, staffing, employee relations, profitability, and other operational matters.
