Job Title: PLC Engineer

Location: Waukesha, WI

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PLC Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk, PLC/HMI programming, electrical testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing controls. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting test and controls systems in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support, service, troubleshoot, and improve test equipment and electrical systems within the plant.

Develop guidelines and specifications for test equipment, testing protocols, data collection systems, and best practices.

Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs and support controls-related systems.

Develop test equipment specifications while ensuring compliance with electrical safety and OSHA requirements.

Identify potential safety hazards and support corrective actions to maintain safe and reliable equipment.

Perform root-cause and failure analysis and develop effective corrective actions.

Support capital equipment selection and evaluate capital investment requests related to testing and controls.

Lead or support cost-reduction, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Develop project goals, budgets, schedules, work breakdown structures, and communication plans.

Coordinate with Production, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Engineering, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Support advanced technologies and information systems used for manufacturing testing and controls.

Support change-management activities and the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Required Skills

3+ years of Controls, PLC, Test, Automation, or related Engineering experience.

Strong hands-on experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs .

Proficiency with RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, and/or Studio 5000 .

Experience with FactoryTalk View ME/SE .

PLC, HMI, and safety systems programming experience.

Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and test equipment.

Experience with NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand is preferred.

Knowledge of Visual Basic/VB.NET, SQL, and Microsoft applications .

Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement is preferred.

Project management experience.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical field.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
