Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will provide critical care in an energetic environment, attending to patients who require immediate medical assistance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7A - 7:30P / 7P - 7:30A
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Highlights

This role centers around the Emergency Room unit, where you will be expected to float as needed based on patient care demands.

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License (Temporary license will not be accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience
• Current certifications: PALS or ENPC, ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and NIHSS

Preferred Qualifications

• CEN certification
• Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and respond to emergencies in the ER.
• Conduct thorough assessments of patient conditions.
• Participate in life-saving procedures including conscious sedation and intubations.
• Provide care for patients with behavioral health needs and manage sepsis and stroke alerts.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.

Dress Code

• RN Scrub Color: Navy (with acceptable undershirts and jackets in white, navy, or black)
• Nail Policy: No acrylic or chipped nail polish, nails should be clean and no longer than ¼ inch
• Hair: Off the shoulders and in natural color
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited
