Clinic Leader - Clinical

JOB SUMMARY

The Clinic Leader provides direct, hands-on leadership to front and back office staff while coordinating and planning efficient operational processes and high-quality patient care at Urology San Antonio. This role manages modest-sized practices with two providers and a workforce of seven full-time equivalent clinical and support staff for one clinic locations. The Clinic Leader oversees the clinic operations, maintains standardized processes and procedures, and ensures effective communication with providers and staff to support a positive and productive work environment. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, monitoring overtime, administering disciplinary actions, and conducting performance appraisals. The Clinic Leader also serves as a primary point of contact for patients and families, providing timely and appropriate responses to complex customer service issues and inquiries regarding practice procedures.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Carries out and maintains a positive culture and incorporates the code of conduct, USA's strategic initiatives, and the organization's policies.
• Effectively communicates with the staff and physicians regarding all practice business.
• Guides leads, supports, and supervises clinic staff.
• Coaches, mentors, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing continuous ongoing training and development throughout employment.
• Hosts staff huddles as needed and no less than monthly
• Empowers employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
• Preform all CMA tasks as needed including but not limited to phlebotomy, urinary catheterization, catheter care/changes, foley catheter care, medication administration and injections, bladder irrigations and installations, dipstick urinalysis with microscopic analysis (includes sending for cultures), pessary care and cleanings, EKGs, as well as overall patient assessment.
• Delegates responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.

• Initiates action to manage staff conflicts.
• Assesses the staffing needs daily and ensures adequate staff to provide quality patient care and meet the practice's needs.
• Schedule daily staff assignments and duties and monitor all incoming and outgoing work queues to ensure daily work is completed (fax queues, return phone calls, etc.)
• Oversees daily activities at the practice by providing oversight and direction.
• Shows a working knowledge of computer systems (Practice Management software and Electronic Medical Records software - iSalus).
• Assists clinic staff in defining appropriate workflows, including all policies, procedures, and processes.
• Is attentive to detail and recordkeeping on required paperwork.
• Strives to improve the working environment by recommending improving workflow and efficiency.
• Inspires trust and confidence from patients, callers, visitors, and employees by always remaining well-informed and prepared.
• Provides oversight and direction to the employees in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Reports employee relations issues or allegations immediately to Human Resources and appropriately documents employee matters.
• Works with the Human Resources department to recruit and hire candidates, and the corrective actions process to terminations, and FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Comp reporting.
• Willingness to accept special project assignments.
• Demonstrates an ability to identify and resolve problems and uses initiative and good judgment to reach quality decisions.

• Makes sure that all employees follow the HIPAA compliance policy

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
• CMA or LVN license
• Three years of experience supervising a medical clinic
• Must have 3-5 years of work experience in healthcare or clinic operations and be familiar with medical terminology.
• Must have a solid work history.

• College Degree in the field of Science
• Bilingual/Spanish
