Physicist - Radiation Oncology

The Medical Physicist is responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation in collaboration with radiation oncologists and staff. Key Duties Include Maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards and creating clinical quality indicators. Developing, implementing, and reviewing policies for therapeutic equipment, performing QA activities, and monitoring equipment performance. Participating in radiation safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance projects. Assisting in treatment planning for external beam, SRS, SBRT, and brachytherapy, including collaboration with physicians and supervision of technical staff. Managing radiation safety protocols, maintaining documentation, and acting as Department Radiation Safety Officer. Performing clinical QA, acceptance testing, calibration, and overseeing equipment and radioactive materials. Contributing to departmental projects, staff training, and regulatory compliance efforts. Qualifications Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiology Physics (ABR), licensed Radiologic Technologist in Illinois, with a master's degree in Physics or related field, and relevant work experience. Skills Knowledge of radiation therapy physics, treatment planning, radiation safety, regulatory standards, equipment QA, and strong communication skills.
