Put your expertise in sign language interpretation to meaningful use by supporting a 5th-grade student in a Life Skills classroom setting. This onsite contract role is a rewarding opportunity to make an impact within a school community while providing critical access and communication support for a student on a one-to-one basis. The assignment runs from August 19, 2026, through June 2, 2027, encompassing 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:20 am to 2:10 pm.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and verifiable experience as a Sign Language Interpreter within an educational environment
• EIPA score of 3.5 or above (as required for assignment)
• Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with deaf culture
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with educators and support staff
• Compassion, patience, and dedication to supporting students with varying needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities between teachers, peers, and the assigned student
• Adjust sign language usage to match the student’s receptive and expressive communication level
• Facilitate understanding by conveying content in an age-appropriate and accessible manner
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and therapists to support the student’s participation in both academics and classroom routines
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all communications and documentation
