Description

American Traveler is hiring a Step Down LPN for night shifts requiring SD/PCU experience, ventilator experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Step down unit caring for patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, flu, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-COVID conditions
• Unit supports trach, vent, and BiPAP patients with high-oxygen requirements alongside Respiratory Therapy, no orally intubated patients
• Manages tele monitoring, insulin drips, heparin, Cardizem, and other sporadic drips
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential to reach 1:5-6
• Unit may utilize a team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partnering to divide workload and improve patient care
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• 36 or 48 hour weekly shift options available
• EPIC EMR experience required
• May float within specialty clusters at facility discretion, including to main campus, south campus (under 10 miles), and north campus (under 15 miles)
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday

Requirements

• Current LPN/LVN license required if applicable
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Ventilator experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience preferred
• Step down (SD) or PCU experience required in 1:5 ratio setting; ICU experience does not substitute
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must pass online EKG tele competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• Must be fit-tested for N95 or provided PAPR prior to working on HRRU unit

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2-3 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Facility may cancel agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives offered by the facility
• RTO requests must be submitted with initial application; no RTO added after offer and approval is at manager's discretion
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
