SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

Software Quality Assurance EngineerRooms To Go is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Application Development team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web and desktop applications through a combination of manual and automated testing.Working closely with developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders, you'll develop test strategies, execute manual and automated test cases, identify defects, and help improve the overall software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience with both manual testing and test automation and enjoys building quality into every stage of the development process.Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and desktop applications.Perform manual functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using modern automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, WebDriverIO, or similar frameworks.Validate software against business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution using defect management tools.Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure software quality throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness activities.Execute regression testing before software releases to ensure application stability.Improve testing processes, standards, and automation coverage to increase efficiency and product quality.Assist in designing scalable automation frameworks and reusable test assets.Communicate testing progress, results, and quality metrics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Stay current with emerging testing tools, technologies, and industry best practices.Qualifications:4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including manual testing and/or test automation.At least one year of hands-on experience with Playwright or another Node.js-based automation testing tool (such as Cypress or WebDriverIO).Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, testing lifecycle, and SDLC.Experience creating test plans, test cases, and test strategies from business requirements or user stories.Experience performing manual functional, smoke, regression, and integration testing.Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.Experience with JavaScript and Node.js-based automation tools preferred.Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a development team.Founded in 1991, Rooms To Go is one of the largest and fastest growing furniture retailers in the US with over 250 stores in ten southern states, eight distribution centers and an e-commerce business.
