About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the long-term sustainability of its mission-driven organization. The CFO will be a key partner to the CEO and the Board of Directors, responsible for financial stewardship, and will oversee a significant annual budget. This role requires a seasoned financial executive with a strong background in nonprofit, affordable housing, real estate, healthcare, or human services sectors. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner, a disciplined executor, and a proactive communicator, with a proven track record of making sound and timely financial decisions. Experience in working with outsourced financial service providers and a deep understanding of nonprofit accounting, government grants, and affordable housing finance are essential. Key responsibilities for the CFO include serving as a trusted advisor on financial strategy, anticipating and addressing emerging financial issues, and supporting long-range planning. The role also involves maintaining financial integrity, overseeing internal controls, and ensuring transparent reporting to various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a CPA or equivalent financial training, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the mission and values of the organization. They should be adept at leading through influence, building relationships, and inspiring confidence in both executive and board settings. The CFO will be expected to lead a cross-functional team, align financial strategy with the organization's mission, and contribute to a culture of professionalism, equity, and accountability.
