Branch Service Manager at our Geary Office, San Francisco, CA . This role provides sales leadership, through their own production, as well as overseeing sales and services tasks, and works closely with key partners to achieve sales and service objectives while maintaining operational integrity. Essential Functions Responsible to manage the branch service, sales and operations functions to achieve the strategic goals of the branch in coordination with a Branch Manager or Business Center Manager. Perform tasks and/or recommend on interviewing, selecting, hiring, performance evaluations, advancement and termination of employees. Train, coach and mentor employees. Provide leadership and training for the sale and referral of bank products and services. Resolve and respond to client service issues, complex client complaints and questions. Direct the work of managed employees. May schedule and set hours of work. Maintain production or sales records for use in supervision and performance management of employees, appraise employee productivity and efficiency. Recommend promotions or other changes in employee status, handle employee complaints and grievances, discipline employees, apportion the work and determine approaches used by employees to accomplish tasks. Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols. Monitor and/or implement legal compliance measures, ensure the branch is in compliance with all bank policies and procedures. Approve teller transactions as needed. Prepare the branch/business center for audits and work with audit staff to resolve any issues identified. Provide sales leadership through personal production and oversight of sales and services tasks. Work closely with key partners to achieve sales and service objectives and maintain operational integrity. Monitor and ensure compliance with policy and the company’s risk appetite. Implement management procedures and operating practices and commit the branch/business center to matters of significant financial impact. Discretion to perform approvals and overrides within authority. Involved in planning long- or short-term operational, sales and customer experience goals. Investigate and research operational issues, loss, fraud and resolve complex and/or significant matters on behalf of the company. Represent the branch in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances. May process cash transactions and perform other customer service and sales duties within the branch/business center as needed. Discretion to determine when to perform additional functions. Other duties as assigned. This position requires the Branch Service Manager to work on site at the assigned branch or business center office. Qualifications High school diploma and 8+ years’ experience in retail banking, sales, new accounts, customer service, loan processes or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements. In-depth knowledge of the banking industry, processes, procedures, regulations, and products. Knowledge of lending process and procedures. Strong customer service, relationship building, sales and management skills. Experience in handling complex client concerns and problems. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of computer programs, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, etc. Ability to set and maintain high-quality work standards. Ability to lead a group. Ability to deal effectively with people in various job capacities. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
