Field based – Full Time – Permanent Competitive base salary + commission per survey – On‑target earnings £48,732 OTE Location – Guildford Ready for a role where your technical expertise shapes real outcomes? We're looking for a hands‑on, detail‑driven Building Surveyor with strong experience in structural works, construction environments, and CDM compliance to join our growing field‑based team. Responsibilities Lead detailed, invasive building surveys to confirm installation feasibility for our homelifts Assess structural integrity and risk — including lifting floors, tracing M&E services, identifying deterioration, and escalating to a Structural Engineer when needed Produce clear, accurate technical outputs: sketches, floor plans, aperture measurements, structural notes, and survey reports Champion compliance and safety — completing RAMS, CDM documentation, Building Regulations requirements, ISO processes, and health and safety checks Drive right‑first‑time delivery by developing Bills of Materials (BOMs), defining work methods, ordering specialist materials, and collaborating with Building Control, engineers, and build teams Requirements Proven experience in building, structural, or construction surveying — from asbestos, quantitative, new build, or refurbishment environments Carpentry or structural trades background (highly desirable) with the confidence to assess real‑world build conditions Solid understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) and Building Control, used daily on structural surveys within domestic properties IT confident and able to create precise, reliable technical documentation A problem‑solver's mindset — able to assess complex structural challenges with precision and attention to detail Full UK driving licence — a company vehicle is provided This is a field‑based role involving regular travel, with occasional overnight stays required to meet business needs Benefits Company vehicle + fuel card + tools + uniform 25 days holiday + 8 statutory bank holidays + 1 extra day off for your birthday Life assurance + critical illness cover Pension scheme Company bonus scheme Enhanced cash‑back health scheme + wellbeing support Employee referral scheme Employee discounts Cycle to work scheme Fully supported induction and ongoing training Are you an experienced Building Surveyor or skilled structural trades professional ready for a more technical, impactful role?
