Every day you will expertly oversee technician workflows, mentor and train staff, resolve operational challenges, and meticulously manage inventory and quality control procedures, contributing to seamless pharmacy operations and patient safety. To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding pharmacy technical skills, strong leadership capabilities, and a meticulous, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to optimal patient care and team performance.Maintains a positive leadership role within the department.Supervises and assists pharmacy technicians and other support staff effectively.Conducts performance evaluation and competency assessment of pharmacy technicians.Educates, mentors, and evaluates pharmacy technicians to develop and improve skills necessary for providing pharmaceutical care.Develops and provides educational programs, learning modules, and knowledge assessment tools.Provides technical support for automated dispensing machines, carousel technology for automated medication inventory storage, and other pharmacy computer systems.Performs all payroll and scheduling functions for all pharmacy coworkers under the direction of the Pharmacy Director.Maintains appropriate controlled substance records.Performs audits, investigations, and other tasks related to medication safety and potential medication diversionResponds to data requests from other clinical and/or regulatory departmentsAssists in implementation of process changes.Works with the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Operations Manager to establish, implement, and monitor pharmacy goals and objectives.Review and update policies as assignedPrepares, distributes, and enters data for monthly nursing unit inspectionsServes as a liaison with colleges of pharmacy, schedules and orients students visiting site on clinical rotationAssists with managing the drug formulary by ensuring operational and inventory efficient processes are in place and are followed.HR liaison for the department of pharmacyParticipates in departmental and organizational committees at the discretion of the Pharmacy DirectorRequired:High School Diploma or GED equivalent, upon hireRegistered Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, upon hireActive CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification, upon hireMinimum of four (4) years of Pharmacy Tech experience in a hospital setting, upon hirePreferred:Two (2) years of lead, supervisory, or management experienceBaylor St. Luke's Medical Center is an 1,045 bed facility located in the Texas medical center.
