Estimating SpecialistAlyeska Builders is a locally owned general contractor serving Interior Alaska, and we're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Estimating Specialist to help turn client ideas into well-planned projects through accurate estimates, clear communication, and exceptional customer service.Our Estimating Specialists play an important role in the early stages of every project, working closely with clients, trade partners, vendors, and our internal team to gather project details, develop specifications, coordinate bids, and prepare accurate estimates. The goal is simple: provide clients with a positive experience while ensuring every project begins with clear expectations, thorough documentation, and a solid estimate.We offer year-round employment, competitive pay, opportunities for advancement, excellent benefits, and a positive team culture where hard work is recognized and careers are built.What You'll Be DoingPreparing accurate project estimates, detailed specifications, and material selectionsScheduling and attending client meetings and project site visits to gather information, assess project needs, and document detailsPreparing, sending, and following up on bid requests to trade partners and vendorsMaintaining consistent communication with clients regarding project details, estimating progress, and next stepsCoordinating with trade partners, vendors, and internal teams regarding estimates, scheduling, and project progressMaintaining thorough records of client communications, project details, and estimating activities within company management systemsCreating, updating, and maintaining estimating templates, specification templates, and project schedulesUtilizing estimating software and current material pricing to develop, review, and prepare project estimatesAssisting with incoming leads, client inquiries, account setup, scheduling, and general office support as neededSupporting project managers and field teams with communication and coordination throughout projectsWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 2 years of construction experienceMinimum 2 years of customer service experienceStrong understanding of construction materials, processes, and estimating practicesExcellent communication, organization, time management, and customer service skillsAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detailAbility to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, trade partners, vendors, and internal teamsStrong follow-through, problem-solving skills, and willingness to adapt to changing prioritiesComfortable working independently, taking ownership of responsibilities, and completing tasks with minimal supervisionAbility to learn and effectively utilize estimating and project management softwareValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screeningPositive attitude, accountability, strong work ethic, and a growth-minded, team-first mentalityEmployment RequirementsMaintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Complete OSHA-10 certification before employment when applicable (company-provided if needed).Complete one company-approved continuing education course every six months (provided by the company and completed on your own time).Report any driving violations that may affect employment responsibilities.Benefits & GrowthYear-round, full-time employmentCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, Dental & Vision InsuranceLife InsuranceRetirement Plan with 6% Company MatchPaid Time Off & Paid HolidaysAFLAC Supplemental CoverageFitness Membership IncentiveCompany-provided OSHA-10 training when applicableContinued training and advancement opportunitiesBenefits available after the applicable waiting period.No Earning CeilingAlyeska Builders uses one Journeyman wage scale across all positions, creating a consistent approach to compensation and career growth throughout the company.Once an employee reaches Journeyman-level status within their position, they become eligible for annual 1–3% performance-based wage increases, allowing earning potential to continue growing with performance, responsibility, and leadership.ScheduleFull-time, year-round employmentMonday–FridayStandard office hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PMAdditional hours may be required based on project needsIf you're looking for an opportunity to build strong relationships with clients and trade partners, take ownership of your work, and play an important role in bringing construction projects to life, we'd love to meet you.
