About us
Preferred Business Systems is a New Jersey office technology company that has helped local businesses with copiers, printers, document management, and IT services for 29 years. We're growing and looking for a true hunter who wants to go out, find new customers, and close deals.

About the role
This is a new business role. You'll own the full sales cycle from the first cold call to the signed deal. You'll find the prospect, get in the door, figure out what they need, build the proposal, and close it. If you like being in the field, meeting business owners face to face, and getting paid for results, this job is for you.

What you'll do

Find new business

• Prospect every day by cold calling, emailing, and walking into businesses in your territory
• Knock on doors and build relationships with office managers, business owners, and decision makers
• Research companies in your territory and identify businesses with aging equipment, expiring leases, or high print costs
• Use LinkedIn, networking events, and referrals to build your pipeline
• Follow up on leads from our marketing and appointment-setting team

Run the sales process

• Meet with prospects to learn how they print, copy, and scan today, and what it's costing them
• Do print assessments and review their current equipment, lease, and service agreements
• Recommend the right multifunction copiers, printers, and managed print solutions for their business
• Give product demos in person or at our showroom

Build proposals and close deals

• Create professional proposals with lease and purchase options, including service and supply agreements
• Present pricing, handle objections, and negotiate terms
• Close the deal and get the paperwork signed, including lease and credit applications
• Hand off to our service and install team and stay involved to make sure the customer has a great experience

Manage your pipeline

• Track all activity, meetings, and deals in our CRM
• Hit weekly activity goals for calls, door knocks, and appointments
• Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets

Requirements:

 

What we're looking for

• 1+ years of B2B outside sales experience, with copier, office equipment, or other B2B sales a strong plus
• A hunter mentality. You're comfortable cold calling and walking into a business you've never been to.
• Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage your own schedule
• Understanding of equipment leasing is a bonus, and we'll train you on it
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
