Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our manufacturing team in Duncan, SC. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of welding experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to perform high-quality welding and metalworking operations with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will take pride in their craftsmanship, work safely and efficiently, and be willing to support and cross-train in other areas of the shop as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret manufacturing weld blueprints, symbols, and procedures.
• Set up welding machines to achieve proper penetration across a variety of metals.
• Perform horizontal and vertical welding operations.
• Complete welding and metalworking tasks efficiently with attention to time, cost, quality, and function.
• Operate surface grinders and commonly used manufacturing tools.
• Use torque wrenches, screwdrivers, cordless drills, air grinders, socket wrenches, and other shop equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, dial indicators, and protractors.
• Maintain a high level of workmanship and craftsmanship.
• Meet established quality and productivity goals.
• Safely lift and carry assembly materials, including aluminum panels, automotive components, and other products as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and never compromise the safety of yourself or others.
• Work effectively and respectfully as part of a team.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Assist in other areas of the shop as needed.
• Participate in cross-training and continuously develop welding and manufacturing skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of welding experience required.
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading, welding symbols, and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of welding equipment and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform horizontal and vertical welding operations.
• Experience working with a variety of metals.
• Ability to use common manufacturing tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively with teammates and leadership.
• Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train in other areas.

Welding Qualifications

Candidates should have experience or qualification testing in applicable welding procedures, including WPS 101, 102, 103, 104, 110, 113, and potentially 116 . Qualification requirements may vary by process and position. Aluminum, GTAW, and 3G qualifications may be handled separately.
